The 31 Days of Horror: Day 19
While we're on a lighter tone, let's continue with a personal seasonal favorite, Betty Boop's Halloween (1933). The old Fleischer cartoons are all great, but the Betty Boop ones are particularly bonkers--a weird mix of childlike innocence, sexuality (dig Betty's garter), surrealism and often creepy visuals. Enjoy, and I promise some genuine scares (or oddities, at the very least) tomorrow!

More found gems! Nice work again.
For those who dig this kind of vibe (creepy/kooky/mysterious/ooky, etc.), let me suggest two other animated gems, though these aren't as obscure -- or, frankly, as good -- as the BB clip:
Vincent -- Tim Burton's 1982 short.

Obviously, much of Burton's whole catalog has this same vibe -- Bettle Juice, Nightmare Before Christmas, etc.
Transylvania 6-5000 -- Chuck Jones' 1963 animated short staring Bugs himself. (This NOT the Ed Begley, Jr./Jeff Goldblum feature -- though Geena Davis was quite fetching in that one, as I recall from seeing this when I was 13.)

Abraca-pocus!
Again, neither of these quite measure up to the Betty Boop clip.
I love both of those, Val, particularly the Transylvania 6-5000 short! It was a fave when I was a youngster, but I haven't seen it in ages. I need to remedy that quick. Hopefully, it's on a Warner Bros. collection available for rent here at Facets.
While killing time, I found this little link. It looks like this particular short may have some deep artistic roots.
