Big Man Japan: Badass or Bust?

Did you catch Big Man Japan at Facets Cinematheque? What did you think?

Give us your thoughts on the mockumentary detailing the life of a lonely, ginormous superhero charged with protecting his country from equally huge, insano monsters. Love it? Hate it? We want to know!!

Thoroughly enjoyed Dai-Nipponjin. was delightfully weird & fun while selling the docu-style narrative. Also think it should be seen on big screen as the name implies. So glad Facets was able to get this! Thanks!

Another vote for badass! It was very entertaining, and the ending was hilarious. I remember watching the sequence in the park, with the kids playing behind him, and thinking this was a very big contrast to all the monster footage that was coming up. And that in itself was funny to me.

Loved it. I'm a big kaiju fan to begin with, and it was the perfect blend of love letter and parody. I think that the supremely mundane boringness of the documentary interview parts actually worked and really sold it.

Thank you so much for bringing this to Chicago! I'm glad to have had the chance to see it before it gets shunted onto DVD in the presumably near future. The ending was one of the funniest things I've seen in ages.
